Solid Bubble Bars

Updated: Jan 2, 2020

Oh the pleasure in a long hot relaxing bubble bath!

Showers in the morning or just before bed time are fast and rushed for me. So every now and then I like to indulge myself in a long hot sudsy bath, soft music, lots of bubbles and forget all my cares. I’ve tried bath salts, bar soap, gel bubble bath and liquid bubble bath, but I’ve created a bubble bath bar that satisfies everything I desire in a bath. I make it filled with all the ingredients that leave my skin feeling silky soft all while I enjoy a tub full of bubbles!

I pressed my bubble bars they are not the typical soft rolled use once and they are gone. You will find mine are super concentrated and long lasting. Each bubble bar can be used for 2 to 3 times depending on how many bubbles you like in your tub. Simply hold them under the running faucet till you get the desired amount, set it aside and use again you will be pleasantly surprised!

Here’s the ingredient list:

SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate), Sodium Bicarbonate, Potassium Bitartrate, Vegetable Glycerin, Arrowroot Powder, Cocoa Butter, Himalayan Pink Salt, Natural Fragrance Oils, Cosmetic grade Skin Safe colorant.

The Breakdown of Each Ingredient

  1. SLSA (Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate). Is a fine white, mild high foaming surfactant to add lots of bubbles to your solid bubble bath bars, bath bombs, or bath salts. This ingredient gets a bad rap because it’s often mistaken for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, but they are NOT the same!  SLSA is completely safe for most skin types, including sensitive skin. It removes oils and bacteria without irritating the skin. This product is derived from coconut and palm oils, and conforms to Ecocert’s natural and organic cosmetic standard and is 100% of natural origin and biodegradable now! -the purpose in bubble bath bars: long-lasting bubbles!

  2. Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda). It creates a mild fizzing reaction.

  3. Potassium Bitartrate (Cream of Tartar). Is a white powdery substance that is slightly acidic in nature. When cream of tartar is used as a cosmetic ingredient, it will help to stabilize and hold together all the other important ingredients. So, this important ingredient is perfect for creating fun, quality bubble bars.

  4. Vegetable Glycerin (glycerine or glycerol). Vegetable glycerin is used as a humectant, is a natural emollient that adds a cooling effect on the skin and has found itself in most cosmetic formulations.

  5. Maranta Arundinacea Root (Arrowroot Powder). Arrowroot powder is a natural powdered root starch that is white in color and very lightweight. It is derived from the tropical South American plant Maranta arundinacea. Arrowroot powder has a silkier and finer texture than corn starch. It disperses in water better than cornstarch and it has a silkier texture.

  6. Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter. The high concentration of antioxidant compounds, that includes fatty acids: oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. These fatty acids are beneficial for the body and aid in neutralizing free radicals in the skin.

  7. Sodium Chloride (Himalayan Pink Salt). Himalayan Pink Salt is a mineral salt and is composed of mostly sodium chloride, along with trace minerals of iron, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, which gives this salt it's rich pink color.

  8. Natural Fragrance Oils. To create this particular bubble bath barbs, we combine fragrance oils that are made without phthalates to create the scent of wild flowers. To learn more about phthalates, check out this article by the FDA and this one by the CDC.

  9. Cosmetic grade Skin Safe colorant. I love to have fun experimenting with different powder lake color combinations! They are bright and beautiful powder dyes completely dissolve without leaving any residue! Another thing you must keep in mind is a little goes a long way!
